You will enjoy this section! Tasting is probably our main source
of pleasure. This section is found on Pages
34
to 46. It includes Exercise 7, (Pages 39 and 40), a highly
sensory activity which will give you a new perspective on taste. On
Pages 37 and 38 you will find a very personal account of a
lesson experienced by an actual class of the Herbal
Healing Journey. Below are the reference pages for the
various tastes.

SweetPage
41. You will need to purchase
one or two medjool dates, or sweet, dried raisins for this exercise.
Bitter Page
39. This exercise calls
for bitter foods, such as endive and dandelion. You will likely
need to prepare for it by purchasing the materials at a health food store.
SaltyPage 45. The materials for this
exercise are usually available at a health food store.
SourPage 43. At least one or two of the
materials needed for this can be found in most kitchens.
PungentPage 44. Most of the materials
needed for this exercise are readily available in most households.
AstringentPage 46. You will need to
prepare for this exercise in advance by visiting a health food store.
